TV Performances

Time for Sakura

IMG_3210

My copy of Sakura arrived yesterday! I knew there were leaks all over the net already but I didn’t have time to check it out. It’s kind of nice to not know anything when I put on the cd for the first time.

I wasn’t expecting much of the song (I’m not into most of their recent releases) and wasn’t surprised to feel… nothing. Same for the PV. Maybe I’m a bad fan, but I’m not into Arashi for the idol song-and-dance stuff anyway. Seeing the Making, I remember this. They just make me so happy.

I also just watched the MS and Shiyagare versions of the performance. I liked the effects of the Shiyagare one! This song/performance doesn’t give me strong “I want to see it live” feelings, but I can’t wait to see what else Arashi has in store for us this year.

NTV Best Artist 2012.11.28

Aired On: November 28th, 2012

I have to be honest. I was in Tokyo on the date this show was aired, and I fully intended to watch it, except… I kind of didn’t. At least, not the Arashi parts. I only caught the last half of “Troublemaker” because I had left the common room for a bit, and then while watching the show I kept getting sleepier and sleepier as the common room got noisier and noisier with more people coming in, and in the end the introvert in me gave up and went up to my room, 3/4 into the show. I knew that Arashi would be the last performers, but I figured that I’d download it once I’m back in Malaysia. Which I did.
As expected, my favourite is the “Wild at Heart” performance. I love “Troublemaker” and am not so keen on “Your Eyes”, but “Wild at Heart” is one of the Arashi songs I could watch them perform again and again, and still find myself glued to the screen.

Music Station 2012.05.04

facedown1

Ah, the much anticipated Music Station, in which there would be the first TV performance of “Face Down”, plus the song with most votes from fans. I know a lot of fans in the English-speaking world were banking on “Tokei Jikake no Umbrella”, and some of them were extremely disappointed, and even angry, that it wasn’t chosen.

For me, well – “Tokei Jikake…” really is far from my favourite by them, and I don’t really care whether or not it’s performed ^^; I understand the feelings of the fans who love that song, though – personally I would really love a performance of “Superfresh”, myself, or even “Joy”, but I knew that the chances of the majority voting for non-standards would be very slim. I voted for “Superfresh” anyway. And of course, “Love So Sweet” won the poll. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a favourite among many fans, and non-fans who are voting would be more familiar with the popular songs ^^

Anyway. I wasn’t particularly happy or disappointed with the song choice, but I enjoyed their performance thoroughly, because they seemed really happy 😀 😀 And I accidentally deleted my caps of “Love So Sweet”, so only “Face Down” caps here… haha.

The “Face Down” performance was… *_*

Is it enough to say I loved it and watched it repeatedly? Because I do, and I did.

Hey Hey Hey 2011.11.07 / Music Station 2011.11.11

Music Station
To tell the truth, usually I don’t download all the performances of the same song. It could be the fact that it’s been awhile since they’ve had appearances in these shows (since Lotus was released waaaay back in January… was it January?), or the fact that I’m more into them than I used to be, or just the fact that I love this song a lot, but… yeah. Music Station, too. And they’re just as awesome, here.

Hey Hey Hey

I haven’t actually watched the talk part yet, but I’m loving “Meikyu Love Song” more every time I see them perform it. Okay, I’m really loving it more every time I hear it. But seeing them perform it? Makes me crave to see it live…. T_T

Music Lovers 2011.11.06

Who hasn’t been looking forward to the first performance of “Meikyu Love Song”?
The best thing about Music Lovers, though, is that the talk part is always interesting, and it’s always like a mini-concert, since they perform several songs. This time it’s an Arashi drama theme, starting out with “Monster” (from Riida’s Kaibutsu-kun), followed by “Beautiful Days” (Nino’s Ryusei no Kizuna) and “Love Rainbow” (MatsuJun’s Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku – hey, I remember the title!),  before – finally! – getting to “Meikyu Love Song” (Sho-kun’s Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de, of course), and ending with “My Girl” (Aiba-chan’s My Girl). I loved it all, and only wished that they showed more of the last song.
